Booking guide
Feeling unsure about which service to choose? Our booking guide can help getting the details right.
Alterations
-
Put on the shoes you’re most likely to wear with them, then fold the hem inward to your preferred length and secure it with a safety pin. Stand naturally and check the length in a mirror before taking them off. You only need to pin one leg, but you can pin both if you feel comfortable to. -
-
Pinning is best when you need to show exactly where you’d like the fit or length changed. Put the item on, adjust it to where you’d like it to sit, then secure the excess fabric with a safety pin on each side seam.
Marking lets you show us where you’d like the alteration without pinning. You can use tailor’s chalk or another removable fabric marker on the inside of the garment to mark your preferred length or alteration point. You can also use a small piece of masking tape to identify an area that needs attention.
Either option is fine - use whichever feels easiest. If you’re unsure, upload a few photos with your booking and we’ll help from there. -
An original hem keeps the existing factory-finished edge of your jeans, including its original stitching, fading and worn-in look. It’s a good choice if you like the way the bottom of your jeans currently looks and want to preserve that detail.
A standard hem removes the original edge and creates a new, clean hem at your chosen length. It’s generally a simpler option and works well when preserving the original finish isn’t important to you. -
No stress! Tell us what you’d like to change and upload a few clear photos of the item. If the alteration needs to be assessed or fitted in person, we’ll let you know and help arrange the right next step rather than asking you to guess.
Repairs
-
If the damage is small or easy to miss, use a small piece of masking tape or another removable marker to point out the area. For multiple repairs, mark each spot separately. Please don’t use anything that could permanently mark or damage the fabric.
Clear close-up photos will also help us make sure nothing gets missed.
-
That’s completely fine. You don’t need to know whether your item needs darning, patching, stitching or another type of repair.
Choose the option that best describes the problem, upload a few clear photos and tell us what you’d like fixed. We’ll help work out the right service from there. -
No problem. Make sure each area is clearly marked and photographed so we know exactly what needs attention.
If there are several separate repairs, include them all when you book so we can make sure the full job is understood before work begins.
-
It depends on the fabric, the type of damage and the repair technique required. Some repairs can be made very discreetly, while others may still be slightly visible once finished.
If appearance is particularly important to you, let us know when you book. Your specialist can then take this into account and we’ll confirm with you if there’s anything you should know before the work begins.
Shoe & leather care
-
Include each area that needs attention in your booking and upload photos of each one. This helps us understand the full job before your item reaches the specialist.
-
You don’t need to make that call yourself. Upload clear photos and tell us what’s happened. We’ll review the item with the specialist and let you know what’s possible before any work goes ahead.
-
Yes, we recommend sending the pair even if only one shoe needs work. This helps your specialist compare the two and match the finish, colour or height where needed.
-
Upload a photo of the full item, followed by a clear close-up of the damaged area. If the problem is small or difficult to spot, you can place a small piece of masking tape nearby to point it out.
Dry cleaning
-
If there’s a particular stain or mark you’d like treated, place a small piece of masking tape near the area so it’s easy to find. Please don’t stick tape directly over the stain or use anything that could mark the fabric.
Upload a clear close-up photo when you book, too. -
If you can, tell us what caused it and roughly how long it’s been there. Don’t worry if you’re not sure - just give us as much information as you know and include a clear photo.
-
You don’t need to work that out yourself. Choose the option that best describes your item and upload clear photos, including the care label where possible. We’ll review the details and let you know if it needs a different type of treatment before any work begins.

Taking photos
-
Start with a clear photo of the whole item, followed by a close-up of the area that needs attention. Depending on the service, we may ask for a few additional angles or details during booking.
-
Use good lighting and make sure the area is clearly visible and in focus. Take the photo close enough to show the detail, but with enough of the surrounding item visible so we can understand where the problem is.
-
Do your best to photograph it from a few different angles. You can also place a small piece of masking tape nearby to point out the area, and use the notes section of your booking to explain what we can’t see.
-
If we ask for one, yes. Labels can give us useful information about the fabric, materials and recommended care of your item. Make sure the writing on the label is clear and readable.
